THE AUGMENTATION OF DEMONSTRATION

Ep 2 • 00:49:11

Confronted by an unremitting pulse of synthesized wind and the absonant free-jazz procession of trucks hauling tons of debris out of the Eaton Fire burn zone, a very frustrated A. A. Rosetti and I were able to power through this conversation like we were in a professional—soundproof—studio as opposed to seated at a custom dining table in a historic 1920’s cottage with 3mm of air accommodating each window as weatherstripping.

In this episode we discuss the unorthodox use of piano in mid-90’s post-hardcore, how plowing the field of childhood memory served as an unexpected mechanism for current experiments with sound, an early experience that shaped the author’s progression as a musician whilst leaving a dense cloud of insecurity in its wake, the undeniable importance of hydration, and much more.
